ROTARY DISTRICT 6920 AWARDS
2009-2010
District awards provide an opportunity for each club to share its accomplishments with other clubs and to encourage and inspire best practices in the district. All clubs are encouraged to participate. Awards will be announced at the District 6920 Conference in Jekyll Island on April 23-25, 2010. Most awards will be presented to the best club and runner-up in each size category.
Clubs will compete in one of three size categories:
Small clubs - number of members equals 34 or under
Mid-size clubs - number of members equals 35-80
Large clubs - number of members equals 81 or over
Participation is easy.
Individual clubs simply:
1. submit entries for consideration of District Awards that are applicable to its club. District Award entry forms are due to the District Awards Chair by March 31, 2010.
2. provide a club display and scrapbook at the 2010 District 6920 Conference.
3. apply for a Presidential Citation. All club presidents are expected to apply for the Presidential Citation, which is awarded by the Rotary International President. Presidential citation certification forms are due to the District Governor by March 31, 2010.

OVERVIEW OF DISTRICT AWARDS
Entry forms for the following District Awards indicate the criteria and significance of each component being considered for outstanding recognition.
Entry forms are due to the District Awards Chair by March 31, 2010.
Service Awards
Clubs submit a separate
entry form for best projects representing each of the Rotary Avenues of Service:
Best Club Bulletin
Clubs submit an entry form
for best bulletin, either print or online versions.
Best Club Website
Clubs submit an entry form
for best website.
Rookie of the Year
This award is presented to
the first year (2009-2010 initial membership) Rotarian who best exhibits the
ideals of Rotary service, lives by the 4-Way Test, and has demonstrated
enthusiasm and commitment to his/her local club, community, and Rotary
International. Clubs submit an entry form to the District Awards Chair for each
candidate. Final selection is determined by District 6920 College of
Governors.
Club of the Year Award
Clubs submit a District
Award entry form to be considered for this award. The winner and runner-up in
each size category will be selected based on the highest number of points
received overall.
Interact Award
Interact Clubs submit a
separate entry form for best projects representing each of the Rotary Avenues of
Service:
Governor’s Award of
Excellence
Clubs submit District Award
entry form. All clubs that meet criteria receive an award.

Best Club Scrapbook
Clubs display scrapbook at
the 2010 District 6920 Conference.
Consideration is given to
the following:
60% Communication of Rotary fellowship, club history and activities focusing on 2009-2010 RI theme and Rotary Avenues of Service
20% Overall Appearance
20% Format and Creativity
Best Club Display
Clubs set up display at the
2010 District 6920 Conference.
Display size will be limited to a height of six
feet,
width of eight feet and depth of three feet.
Maximum display size: 6’ high x 8’ wide x 3’
deep
Consideration is given to the following:
60% Communication of Rotary fellowship, club history and activities focusing on 2009-2010 RI theme and Rotary Avenues of Service
20% Overall Appearance
20% Format and Creativity
Club
Attendance Award
This award is given to the
one club in each size category with the highest percentage of attendance at
regularly scheduled meetings of the club as reported to the District Secretary
for the period of March 2009 to February 2010.
Citation for Attendance
at District Conference
All clubs that register at
least ten percent of their club membership at the 2010 District 6920 Conference
are given a citation.
Best Percentage of
Attendance at District Conference
This award is given to the
one club in each size category with the highest percentage of its members
registered at the 2010 District 6920 Conference.
