House

Completed in 1859, the 18,000 square
foot, 24 room Hay House was the most opulent of the mansions built
in Macon before the Civil War.
Built in the Italian Renaissance Revival style, it included
indoor bathrooms, hot and cold running water, central heat and many
other features that were only then becoming popular.

Ocmulgee

This is one of
three places on the North American continent where there is evidence
of 12,000 years of continuous human habitation.
One can visit the museum, enter the
re-created earth-lodge or climb the temple
mound. Bus transportation will be provided.
Museum of
Aviation (Cost $10 - Sat 2:30
PM)
-- Now the second largest museum in the
United States Air Force. Displaying 93 aircraft and hundreds of
exhibits on a beautiful 51 acre site, the museum has grown into a
significant exhibit, education and cultural center drawing more than
500,000 visitors a year. Bus transportation will be provided.
Ocmulgee
Heritage Trail

The 6-mile paved trail along the Ocmulgee River is good for walking,
biking, boating, bird watching and many other activities. It is
easily accessible from downtown Macon. |
