Greetings from the District Chair

With your help the GSE Inbound Brazilian Team had a great experience in May and June.   Thanks again for your continuing support of our District’s GSE program!

Hamsa Thota of St. Simons has been selected to lead our next GSE team which is going to Rotary District 3180 in southern India in late December and returning home in late January 2010. With Hamsa’s intimate knowledge of India, our team should be well prepared for the trip.

Therefore we are already actively seeking applicants for the team and we would like for all y'all to spread the word in search of young applicants.  Team members come from all walks of life – school teachers, attorneys, artists, college professors, non-profit directors, for example.  Our experience is that candidates are identified when specifically approached on a personal basis by a Rotarian who sees them as an attractive candidate in which we would like to invest this opportunity.

Once again, the basic criteria is the young professional needs to be between 25 and 40 years of age, not related to a Rotarian, and finally have the ability to get the time off to be in India for four full weeks.  He or she must have the time to fully participate in pre GSE cross cultural and related training on approximately 4-6 Saturdays and usually one overnight to be scheduled over the course of this coming fall.
